Inherit-MAS: Test-Time Evolution of Multi-Agent Systems through Workflow and Execution Inheritance
Inherit-MAS preserves useful agent-workflow pieces and cached execution results during test-time refinement.
The paper introduces workflow inheritance, where each new candidate starts from the latest completed multi-agent workflow and edits only around a diagnosed deficiency. It also adds execution inheritance, reusing stored results only when the resolved request and context match exactly. In tests, it beats EvoAgent, EvoMAS, and TacoMAS on WorkBench and HotpotQA FullWiki with both GPT-4o-mini and Qwen3-32B workers. Disabling execution inheritance raises token use, with worker-token savings reported at 29.1% on WorkBench and 34.6% on HotpotQA. HF Daily Papers' note
