Change2Task: From Repository Changes to Executable Coding Agent Tasks and Environments
Change2Task turns merged pull requests into verified, executable coding-agent tasks on modern repo states.
The paper describes three reconstruction routes: Patch Reversal, Code Mapping, and Agent Reconstruction. It validates tasks across a lifecycle from healthy base, to task state, to restored state. In evaluation across five task families, it reports 79.6% verified construction success from 1,130 eligible source changes.
