Perplexity Computer now runs fully locally on Mac
The model, agent and task execution can stay on the Mac, including when working with private files and native apps.
Fully local mode keeps planning, reasoning and file processing on Apple silicon, using Qwen 3.6 or PPLX Pro. Users can separately authorize cloud access for current information, browser work or connected apps; Hybrid Compute remains a separate option that begins in the cloud. Local Computer is available in the latest Perplexity Mac app for Pro, Max and Enterprise subscribers with supported Apple silicon Macs. Setup requires downloading a local model, and Perplexity recommends at least 36 GB of memory.
