How Diffusion Controller unifies and simplifies AI image generation
Google says a small control network can steer image models more precisely without reopening the base model.
Diffusion Controller treats denoising as a continuous control problem, adding a lightweight “steering damper” that adjusts generation while the main model stays frozen. Google reports that the gray-box version beat LoRA in HPS-v2 win rates on SFT and RWL tests, despite touching fewer internal layers. A white-box version reached a 90% win rate over the baseline model.
