Huawei plans Q1 2027 launch of new AI chip as it takes on Nvidia
Huawei says its Ascend 960DT AI chip will be ready two quarters earlier than planned, in Q1 2027.
The company announced the accelerated timeline at Huawei Connect, saying the Ascend 960 line is expected to double performance and advance yearly. Huawei is also pitching its Peerium Computing Architecture as a way to link vast numbers of AI chips into larger training and inference systems. Its Atlas 950 SuperCluster is described as supporting up to 256,000 accelerator cards.
