World Observer: Joint Actor-Observer Generation for Persistent World Modeling
The paper’s core move is to keep watching parts of a simulated world after they leave the agent’s view.
World Observer pairs the agent-facing “actor” view with one or more panoramic observers aimed at selected regions. Those observers let off-screen objects keep evolving, so their changed state can be reflected when they come back into view. The system uses a shared panoramic source for geometric correspondence and an “Observer Sink” of high-resolution references to recover fine appearance on re-entry. The authors also introduce metrics and a benchmark for out-of-view evolution across real and synthetic scenes. HF Daily Papers' note
