AutoResearch: Insight In, Hallucination Out
AutoResearch pairs idea generation with evidence checks before accepting experimental conclusions.
The paper describes a two-stage autonomous research system: one side forms grounded, testable plans, and the other runs and reviews experiments. Its agents decompose plans, diagnose failures, and use independent evidence-based review to decide whether to continue, revise, or stop. In reported tests across cross-modal retrieval, systems optimization, and benchmark-driven ML, the system produced measurable gains while flagging fewer audit-confirmed issues than other autonomous research systems. On RSICD, one generated idea raised mean Recall from 32.84 to 34.69. ArXiv · AI/CL/LG's note
