Smallest.ai raises $13M to build ultra-fast voice AI that sounds genuinely human

· TechCrunch AI ·
Smallest.ai’s pitch is that voice agents need a separate real-time model, not just a faster LLM.

The startup raised a $13 million Series A led by Seligman Ventures, bringing total funding to more than $21 million. Its model is built to listen, think, and speak at once, reducing the awkward pauses that make AI calls feel artificial. For questions outside its narrow knowledge base, it hands off to a larger model and puts the user briefly on hold. Smallest.ai is focused on enterprise customer-support voice agents, with RingCentral and Truecaller among its customers. TechCrunch AI's note
