Anthropic to pay Akamai $11.6 billion over seven years in cloud deal
Anthropic’s Akamai commitment could reach about $20 billion if its cloud spending keeps rising.
The seven-year agreement starts at $11.6 billion, but Akamai says it depends on delivery and availability requirements and can be ended under certain conditions. The deal centers partly on CPU capacity, not just the GPU infrastructure usually associated with AI buildouts. Akamai expects no revenue from it this year, then $150 million to $300 million in 2027 and an annual pace near $1.7 billion by the end of 2028.
