Ex-Palantir execs launch Dream with $17M from a16z to build AI world models for construction
Dream’s building-design model is already being used on 10 active projects in Texas and California, its founders say.
Trained on more than 100 million square feet of building data from U.S. permit archives, the model accounts for structural elements, materials, plumbing and HVAC. Dream says it uses physics and construction standards to generate whole-building designs. The startup is selling the product to architecture, engineering and construction professionals and developers for design concepts and cost estimates. It aims to replace tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
