AI computing startup Lambda to raise $4B ahead of planned IPO
Lambda’s next private round is being pitched at a $14.5 billion pre-money valuation before a planned 2027 IPO.
The company is raising up to $4 billion, with Coatue Management and Blackstone leading, according to The Wall Street Journal. Its backlog reportedly jumped from $15 billion in June to $50 billion in September, largely because of a $35 billion commitment from Anthropic. TechCrunch notes that makes the valuation more dependent on Anthropic’s ability to keep paying. Lambda also raised another $1 billion in debt last week as it funds costly data center buildouts.
