Clipto uses AI to search terabytes of video and is now valued at $250M
Clipto raised $15 million at a $250 million post-money valuation while claiming profitability and $15 million in ARR.
The startup indexes local videos, audio, images, meetings, and documents so users can search by description or let tools like ChatGPT and Claude retrieve scoped results. Founder Henry Kang says creators are now only about a quarter to a third of users, with lawyers, doctors, researchers, marketers, HR workers, professors, and students also using it. Clipto says more than 30 million people have used its products and that it has hundreds of thousands of paying subscribers, but declined more specific customer metrics. The new funding is meant for AI models, consumer-hardware performance, and more agent integrations. TechCrunch AI's note
