Restate lands $20M as the need for durable infrastructure increases with AI agents
Restate says agent workloads have turned crash-proof workflow execution from niche plumbing into a sales tailwind.
The Berlin startup raised a $20 million Series A led by Singular, with Redpoint Ventures and Capital One Ventures participating. CEO Stephen Ewan told TechCrunch that Restate has recently signed multiple six- and seven-figure customer contracts as AI agents create longer, less predictable workflows. The company says its own storage, replication, and redundancy layers make its durability engine faster and lighter than systems built on external databases. Restate plans to hire go-to-market staff, add engineers, and expand in the San Francisco Bay Area. TechCrunch AI's note
