At Meta Connect, the company’s smart glasses were everywhere

· TechCrunch AI ·
Meta used Connect to push smart glasses as a broad product line, including camera-free audio glasses and a $150 hearing-assist pair.

The unreleased audio-only glasses have six microphones, no camera, and no native recording, a design aimed at privacy concerns around camera-equipped specs. They also connect to Meta’s Muse agent, letting wearers issue spoken commands, though the demo showed it could get confused by nearby conversation. A second pair is built for people with hearing loss, amplifying voices with focused or omnidirectional modes. Meta’s pitch was less one device than a range of uses meant to make smart glasses feel practical.
