DREAM adds an agentic control layer to Taobao’s existing recommender pipeline and reports measurable feed gains without replacing the core models.
The report describes a two-part system: an Intent Engine that turns device-side behavior into structured intent signals, and a Meta Engine that converts those signals into ranking and re-ranking parameters. Its edge-cloud trigger chain cuts reporting volume to about 8.7%. In large A/B tests on Taobao’s homepage feed, re-ranking control improved IPV 2.06%, Core IPV 2.39%, and GMV 0.88%. Extending control to fine ranking lifted those gains to 2.71%, 3.06%, and 1.31%, with PV up more than 1%. HF Daily Papers' note
