OpenAI signed a 20-year agreement for capacity at SB Energy’s PORTS-Pike Technology Campus in Pike County, Ohio. The Techmeme note says the project is 10 gigawatts, with OpenAI securing about 8 gigawatts of IT capacity. Nvidia will be the exclusive AI compute provider and agreed to backstop part of the completed data center’s value, with related reports putting the guarantee at up to $105 billion. Nvidia is also investing $1.5 billion in SB Energy.
