Meta executive leaves for OpenAI as the social media giant faces growing scrutiny in India
Sandhya Devanathan is moving from Meta’s India and Southeast Asia leadership to an APAC role at OpenAI.
OpenAI said she will be based in Singapore and report to Asia-Pacific managing director Kiran Mani. Her remit covers consumer growth, enterprise adoption, partnerships, regulatory engagement, and operations across Southeast Asia and Australia. The move follows OpenAI’s appointment of Prabhjeet Singh as India head and its office expansion across the region.
