Amazon makes its AI-powered Alexa+ free on Fire TV, no Prime required
Compatible Fire TV devices in the U.S. are being moved to Alexa+ automatically, without a subscription step.
Amazon says the rollout brings conversational search, AI recommendations, and smart home controls to current Fire TV Sticks, Fire TV Cube, Amazon Ember TVs, and some Alexa+-built-in TVs from Hisense and Panasonic. The assistant can answer looser viewing requests, such as asking for a top-rated thriller or a historical drama with a strong female lead. It can also show Ring camera feeds and manage smart home devices from the TV. TechCrunch AI's note
