A 100-vertex independent set now certifies the long-open frb100-40 benchmark as optimal.
The paper says the witness, checked against a partition into 100 cliques of size 40, proves maximum independent-set size 100 and minimum vertex-cover size 3,900. The run that found it is separated from the proof. A preregistered 8,668-run study found no detectable speedup from the added repair operators over base ULSA.
