Driving on Memory
On NAVSIM, stored location memory nearly matched live camera input.
The paper tests autonomous-driving planners by replacing current camera observations with retrieved data from prior drives at the same place. Those memories can carry road layout and location-specific patterns, but not the live traffic scene. The authors report that this was nearly enough on NAVSIM, sometimes beating leading end-to-end methods without seeing the evaluated scene. Bench2Drive and RealEngine showed much larger drops, making the warning benchmark-specific. ArXiv · AI/CL/LG's note
