ChatGPT can now send texts for you with new Apple Messages plugin
OpenAI says the Messages plugin can read, draft, send, search, and delete texts, but only after users connect it and grant device-level access.
The plugin links Apple Messages to ChatGPT so users can work with their inbox from the chatbot. OpenAI told TechCrunch it does not build a full index of messages, runs the plugin locally, and stores message content on the user’s computer rather than its servers. Setup requires Full Disk Access, and OpenAI warns against persistent approval because it removes the last review before ChatGPT sends a message as the user. TechCrunch AI's note
