Anthropic tests Penlight for live clinical transcripts and AI research
Penlight is a hidden Claude product built to record patient visits, stream live transcripts, and keep a clinical research chat open alongside them.
TestingCatalog says the early interface is unfinished and gated behind an internal feature flag. Once started, it requests microphone access, sends speech-optimized audio to Anthropic, and produces speaker-aware live transcripts. The code also points to article-based medical research results with journal, DOI, PubMed, and author fields, plus an unused generated-note field.
