OpenAI launches ChatGPT desktop app for Linux
OpenAI’s Linux desktop app is out worldwide in preview, with support for major Ubuntu, Debian, and Fedora releases.
The app brings ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex to Linux desktops. OpenAI said Linux had been one of the most requested platforms for its desktop app. Supported distributions include Ubuntu 24.04 and 26.04 LTS, Debian 13, and Fedora 43 and 44, with downstream variants expected to work as well.
