Amazon just tripled its order of Nvidia chips over ‘surging demand’
AWS is adding 2 million more Nvidia GPUs for 2027 and 2028, a deal TechCrunch says is worth tens of billions.
The order expands a partnership Amazon had already announced five months earlier for more than 1 million Nvidia GPUs. Nvidia said demand exceeded those earlier expectations, with startups, enterprises, AI labs, and governments cited as drivers. The deal also brings more Nvidia systems into AWS, including networking, Vera CPUs, open models, software, and robotics tools.
