FACET: Preserving Source Intent and Executable State in Terminal Task Synthesis

· HF Daily Papers ·
FACET makes terminal-task generation hinge on one shared executable container state.

The paper says inconsistent assumptions between the instruction, environment, solution, and verifier can make synthesized terminal tasks unsolvable or wrongly graded. FACET reconstructs source skills into richer scenarios, realizes and repairs the environment, then grounds the final artifacts in that state. Its validation loop repairs failing pieces without regenerating components that already work. Fine-tuning on trajectories from these tasks improved models on Terminal-Bench 2.1, according to the authors. HF Daily Papers' note
