Meta launches AI desktop app for macOS with screen sharing
Meta’s Mac app can use a shared screen or window as prompt context.
The version tested by TestingCatalog is available in certain regions and is already labeled 1.0. Meta announced it on August 19 with screen sharing and system-wide dictation as core desktop features. The app largely mirrors Meta AI on the web, but adds a compact prompt bar that can be summoned from anywhere on macOS. TestingCatalog notes that Meta still lacks deeper desktop coding workflows, browser use, and computer control in the consumer app. TestingCatalog's note
