StudentBench: AI and human tutoring yield equivalent GRE learning gains
In StudentBench’s GRE trials, AI tutoring matched expert human tutoring on measured learning gains.
The study covered 2,383 participants assigned to AI tutoring, human tutoring, or no tutoring across Quantitative and Verbal GRE questions. Its authors report statistical equivalence between AI and expert human tutors, with the best AI tutor outperforming the human tutor on average in five of seven GRE domains. A second study used 2,028 expert-tutor comparisons of AI lesson plans and practice problems.
