Andromeda 2 found more target-meeting paclitaxel formulations than both the older optimizer and a wet-lab DoE run at the same budget.
The paper says the agentic lab system uses structured in-house experimental evidence, plus computational and experimental tools, to plan and run formulation batches. For paclitaxel SEDDS, it reported a 50% high-performance hit rate, compared with 17% for Andromeda 1 and 2% for DoE. It identified 12 formulations meeting all four target product profile objectives; the other two methods found 6 and 0.
