Learning How to Remember: Memory Modality Selection for GUI Agents

· HF Daily Papers ·
SwitchMem routes a GUI agent’s memory between text and visuals step by step, instead of locking in one format.

The paper says memory-augmented GUI agents often retrieve past experience in a fixed modality. Its benchmark study finds the better memory representation changes across interaction steps. SwitchMem uses that finding to choose textual or visual memory dynamically at each step. Across three GUI benchmarks, it beats static-memory baselines, according to the authors.
