Waymo is showing a custom 5nm sensor-fusion chip for the Waymo Driver.
The chip is described as handling front-end sensor processing, with more than 1,000 TOPS, to help the car make real-time driving decisions. Waymo says the work should improve robotaxi performance and reduce reliance on outside chip suppliers, while still naming partners including AMD, Micron, NVIDIA, Samsung, Sandisk, Socionext, and TSMC.
