CADFather: Autonomous CAD Reconstruction through Coordinated Tool Use
CADFather uses an agent to choose and combine reconstruction tools while keeping the best valid CAD program it finds.
The system reconstructs editable parametric CAD models from 3D meshes. A vision-language assistant reviews target and intermediate renders, then decides which candidates to extend, which tools to call, how many proposals to generate, and when to stop. Its toolset includes learned and algorithmic CAD-operation proposers plus numerical parameter refinement. The authors evaluate it across DeepCAD, Fusion360, MCB, CADENA-Bench, CADBench, and BenchCAD, and report analysis of compute cost versus reconstruction quality. HF Daily Papers' note
